Yvonne Spaggiari, Italian Artist Soft Sculptured Dolls Fisherman/Wife RARE !

These beautiful hand sculpted, hand sewn and hand painted pair of character dolls are from well known artist Yvonne Spaggiari, Italian artist.  These are one of a kind and dolls that do belong in a museum or restored/protected so as not to deteriorate and be gone.  These are RARE, RARE, RARE and none can copy her wonderfully talented style.  The fisherman and his wife are dressed in authentic costumes for their characters, and all authentic fabrics.  The little man holds his basket, net and pipe.  The wife has a word carved  shoulder device for carrying loads, but the baskets and ropes for that are missing.  The wife doll has damage to the face which most has been covered with the scarf stitched in place to hide the defect.  The faces are very fragile and most susceptible to damage.  The wives skirt, under her apron has damage, but looks as if could be natural peasant worn ragged skirt.  She has multiple skirt/ layers under her dress and authentic cotton leggings on both dolls.  The little wooden shoes are hand carved and words on bottom say "Italy"  on the wife's and "12.50 and three letters that looks like seyr under that price, in pencil on the fisherman's shoes.....an Italian price? from long ago.  These dolls stand about  13 inches tall.
