    Description

5/8" x 3/4" Water Meter Thread Adapter Bushings
    Install a 5/8" x 1/2" meter into a 5/8" x 3/4" Meter Setting or Couplings
1/2" Female AWWA Meter Threads x 3/4" Male AWWA Meter Threads
These bushing thread onto a 5/8" x 1/2" meter to allow it to fit in a 5/8" x 3/4" meter setter, or fit 3/4" meter couplings.
    One
    PAIR
of lead-free brass water meter adapter bushings (1 lot of 2 bushing).
Inside female threads fit the 1/2" meter threads of a 5/8" (5/8" x 1/2") Water Meter (approximately 1" O.D. meter spud).
Outside threads are 3/4" AWWA Spec meter threads to fit 3/4" meter couplings (approximately 1-1/4" I.D. meter coupling nut).
    Allows a 5/8" (5/8" x 1/2") water meter to be installed in the setting for a 5/8" x 3/4" meter.
Does not change the lay length of the water meter (both 5/8" and 5/8" x 3/4" meters are 7-1/2" long).
Fits 3/4" meter coupling (female) swivel union nuts using 3/4" meter gaskets.
    This set essentially turns a 5/8 x 1/2 water meter into a 5/8 x 3/4 water meter when installed.
The Length of the bushing is 5/8".
Cross Reference to Ford Meter Box part number A12S, or Cambridge Brass #440.
Note: These are AWWA spec straight meter threads,
    not
NPT standard pipe threads, so they won't work for other typical plumbing applications.
Directions: Thread onto 5/8" water meter threads until the outer face is even with the meter spud end. Insert gasket in 3/4" meter coupling and tighten until gasket seals. The meter coupling gasket seals against the end of the meter, not the threads. (Thread sealant is never used on water meter threads. The watertight seal is made by the compressed meter coupling gasket between the and swivel nut and meter spud end).
Gaskets and meter couplings are also for sale in other listings in our store if needed.
