Vintage NEPTUNE METER CO. Trident Brass Water Meter Cap Fixture
So attractive, the vintage patina has been left as is on this brass water meter cap. This Trident Water Meter cap was produced by Neptune Meter Co. of New York and all of this information is clearly embossed on the top lid, along with the incised serial number (3726834). There is also an embossed Neptune's trident which serves as a company logo. I have no idea as to its actual age, but perhaps it is from the 1940s or 50s. It was part of a lot purchased at a local estate auction.
The hinged top lid has a diameter of 2-7/8", inner frame 2-3/4" diameter x 1-1/4 " tall base collar, 3-1/8" collar base diameter x 1-3/4" total height and a total depth of about 3-3/8" (including the hinge). Weight is about 12 ounces. Condition is very good with no issues. Please enlarge and examine the photos carefully.
