Description
You are bidding on a vintage newspaper supplement for the Kansas City Star from Saturday, July 26, 1969 that showcases the Apollo 11 moon landing in full detail. These 16 pages and in excellent condition for being 50 years old and include the entire story of the Apollo 11 moon mission. Some of the photos are in color and some are in black and white. It has a complete page dedicated to the families of the Apollo crew. Throughout there are various headlines from newspapers around the country as well.
There are detailed pages about the flight plan complete with diagrams, a piece on the precautions taken against 'moon germs', as well as an Apollo Moon Landing Guide that is essentially a map of the moon's seas and bays, mountains, and craters.
This newspaper insert was a splendid, bottom desk drawer find in the attic. It has been stored in a plastic bag which has helped to keep the paper from deteriorating. There is a small bit of edge wear along the top edge as you can see from the photos, but otherwise there are no tears or rips...only a bit of yellowing from time.
