    Description

    SCARCE ITEM!!
This is USGS Professional Paper 599-B,
    Photoclinometry from Spacecraft Images
. Published in 1968, this is one of only a few rare publications the USGS did on behalf of NASA on Lunar geology. This is part of the
    Contributions to Astrogeology
series of professional papers. This short 10-page booklet discusses the theory behind using differential lighting recorded in images of the moon to derive topographic information.
It is a somewhat technical report but provides yet another rare glimpse of the tremendous scientific and technical challenge the Apollo missions represented. As such it is a credit to the many great scientists that worked on the project, and forms a unique part of the history of the program. This volume is in excellent condition and appears to have been used very little, if at all. A rare opportunity for collectors of Apollo program literature and memorabilia.
