In the Lineman Electrical Trade, Leather protectors are worn over electrical-insulating rubber gloves to protect rubber gloves from pinpricks or tears.  These gloves do not provide protection against electrical shock when worn on their own. The class of the leather protector should match the class of the electrical-insulating rubber glove. Leather gloves resist abrasion to help extend the lifespan of the electrical insulating gloves...but...they have many other uses.
~
The gloves can be worn with a loose fit over bare hand, or they can be worn leather work gloves for extra thick protection. They are easy to slip on and off over your regular work gloves, and give immediate added protection. I wear an
XL (size10)  Wells Lamont leather work glove
and I can comfortably slide my hand wearing the Wells Lamont gloves into the Whites Safety gloves, with out binding. The Whites Safety fit perfectly over the XL Wells Lamont's, and gives a very thick layer to protect my hands when moving thorny brush.
~
With their over size fit and high gauntlet the Whites Safety gloves can be worn over you regular Shooting / work or insulated gloves.  Hunting in heavy / thorny brush, rocks, mud or other adverse terrain, the Whites will cover your good glove when needed. If you are hunting and want to protect your shooting insulated gloves in brambles, mud, or hiking up a steep slope to a ridge, have a pair of these in your pack for the job.
~
The Blaze Orange Gauntlet offers additional high visibility for hunting, roadwork, ATV or horse riding.

If you are an Electrical Lineman you already know about this type of glove. Here is a quick description though...
