Description
A unique, Apollo 15 commemorative coin of the first Lunar Roving Vehilce (LRV) on an alien world. The 1.5" brass medal is imbeded in a 4 x 7", thick, cardstock First Day Issue Postcard. The First Day cancellation of the way-cool, dual 8-cent US Postal Stamp is "Kennedy Space Center Aug. 2, 1971" That is the day of blast off from the Moon by the Lunar Module "Falcon" on Aug. 2, 1971, seen by live video provided by a camera on the Apollo 15 Lunar Rover. The unusual postal card is covered in a thin plastic. Information about the lunar rover and that it drove more than 17 miles on the Moon is included on the card.
