  • Condition: This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA/BOEING MSFC Engineer that worked on Saturn/Apollo to the Shuttle Missions and after his retirement was Archive/Curator at the Space and Rocket center. Preliminary Book (1of 10) and Original Signed Memorandums are in Excellent condition for use/age with very minimal wear. Preliminary Book Memorandum is from and Signed by Ernst Stuhlinger "Ernst" and includes handwritten outline attached. Post Book Memorandum is from and Signed by Frederick I. Ordway, III (includes corrections that should be made to book). Both memos have handwritten details on them and on inside cover of Book. Please see all Pictures...

    Description

    This recent find comes from Estate of Retired BOEING & NASA Marshall Space Flight Center Aerospace Engineer that worked on the early Saturn/Apollo to Shuttle Missions - NOTE: After retirement previous owner was a Archives/Curator at "THE SPACE and ROCKET CENTER" (SPACE CAMP-Huntsville, AL.) Where he also was able to Obtain a large Collection of Purged Archived items if after notified original donors did not re-claim them.  Listing is for a ULTRA RARE NASA MSFC LOT of 3 ITEMS including One PRELIMINARY copy (1of 10 Produced) of "FROM PEENEMUNDE TO OUTER SPACE COMMEMORATING THE FIFTIETH BIRTHDAY OF WERNHER VON BRAUN MARCH 23, 1962". Also included is One ORIGINAL Preliminary SIGNED Memorandum from ERNST STUHLINGER "ERNST" to Dieter Grau, Director of Quality Division MSFC. Grau was one of the Original Paperclip scientists to come over from Germany with von Braun. This memo was sent during the development stages of the book. The Second is an ORIGINAL Post (book development) SIGNED Memorandum from FREDERICK I. ORDWAY, III with detailed notes of corrections (errors - 13pages) needing made to the book - the book included in this listing is the 1 of 10 PRELIMINARY books and does not include the corrections. Book is 8.5"Wx11"Lx1.5"D with 853 pages.  Both memos front page and inside cover of book have Robert L. Smith Jr.  or R.L. Smith on them who was a NASA M-Quality Mgr. Aerospace Engineer and Contributor to book.  We have one other of the 10 Preliminary Books Printed and it has a Original error letter signed by Frederick Ordway and a Copy of the Ernst Stuhlinger letter.  Both Memos/Letters included in this listing are ORIGINALS.
