  • Condition: This recent find comes from the Estate of Retired NASA/SCB MSFC Engineer that worked on Saturn/Apollo winning the (Silver Snoopy) for communications support on the Apollo/Skylab program and multiple awards later in the Space Shuttle missions. Mr. Carr was vital in the NASCOM Networks supporting these programs and originally came to NASA/ABMA in 1958 from South Central Bell. Both letters and news article congratulate him on receiving the SILVER SNOOPY AWARD and are in Very Good overall condition with some age/storage wear. Deputy Director's letter (on George C. Marshall Space Center letterhead) and news article have been attached to and stored on scrap book pages (as shown in pictures). Letter from Astronaut Joe Kerwin is an original signature and on Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center Letterhead. Please see all Pictures...

    Description

    This recent find comes from the Estate of Retired NASA/SCB Marshall Space Flight Center Communications Engineer that worked on the early Saturn/Apollo (as early as the Apollo 8 mission) to Skylab Missions (Winning the SILVER SNOOPY Award for his Work on SKYLAB). Mr. Carr worked through most of the Shuttle Missions on the NASA MSFC Manned Space Flight & NASCOM Team Managing most of these programs. Listing is for an Original NASA personal collection of 1973 letters and newspaper article congratulating him for his SILVER SNOOPY AWARD (NO PIN included). Included in the listing is One ASTRONAUT JOE KERWIN (SKYLAB 2) original signed letter to him and thanking him for his work as a member of the Manned Space Flight Team and congratulating him on his SILVER SNOOPY AWARD. A second letter from the Deputy Director, NASA MFA (A SKYLAB CARR-GIBSON-POGUE decal is attached). The third item is a 2 page news article from October 1973 about Mr. Carr and his service to the Skylab Program while at SCB earning the Silver Snoopy Award. All are
    in Very Good overall condition with some expected age/storage wear. Deputy Director's letter and news article have been attached to scrap book pages and stored this way.
