    Description

This is a great pair of photo buttons produced after the successful APOLLO VIII flight in December of 1968 by JAMES LOVELL, WILLIAM ANDERS, and FRANK BORMAN. This flight marked the first time anyone had circled the Moon and returned and was the precursor for the APOLLO XI mission that landed men on the moon and was James Lovells first flight before the almost disastrous APOLLO XIII mission. Although both buttons are faded, there is a 3 1/2 inch photo button of the 3 astronauts with the dates and slogans around the edge and a matching 1 5/8 inch celluloid button with a WELCOME Back to EARTH ribbon attached ...
