    BRASS Water Meter Idler Tube
    Spacer Tube
    For 5/8" x 1/2" Water Meter
    This Idler tube can be used for two major purposes, New Construction or meter replacement. It is the same thread size and lay length as a water meter.
    New Construction:
    Used to properly space meter couplings or valves when the water meter is not yet available.
    Can be used to plumb for a future water meter to be installed at a later date while allowing water flow and the place for the meter.
    Meter Replacement
    A meter idler tube can be used to supply water temporarily if a meter is removed for repair or testing
    Can be used for flat rate billing when plumbing is done in anticipation of a future utility or submetering water meter being installed.
    Specs:
    For proper spacing of a 5/8" x 1/2" water meter meeting AWWA specification (USA/Canada) **DOES NOT fit 5/8" x 3/4" meters, which is a 5/8 capacity meter with 3/4" AWWA meter threads.
    Lay Length 7-1/2"
    For AWWA 1/2" Water Meter Threads (Approx 5/8" I.D. and 1" O.D.).
