Description

This listing is for a black leather name tag, which was worn by Ed Gibson during his training for the Apollo/Skylab missions. He wore this patch onboard
NASA's KC-135 "Vomit Comet" -
a modified Boeing 707 that would fly to great heights, then drop down for miles, leaving the passengers in a zero-gravity environment for short periods of time. After the flights, several astronauts gave their name tags as souvenirs to the NASA engineer who helped with the training. I bought a stack of patches from this employee, including the one here. These were authenticated and sold to me via Heritage Auctions in their latest space auction.
