Description

Rare and unusual map dated June 1969 showing the Apollo 11 lunar module's projected
decent (elevation and speed?)before landing on the moon. "18 June 1969 LAUNCH DATE LANDING SITE NO. 3"   From the estate of a man that worked at ACIC in St. Louis (Aeronautical Chart and Information Center).  ACIC printed ALL the government maps for many years.  The image is roughly 48" long.  The surface of the moon in the image appears to be a cut and paste of numerous images to form the panorama. See photos for the meaning of the nomenclature on the maps- LPD and PDI.  The map is in good shape- see the photo.  There is some masking tape residue on the back of one end but it's effect is not seen in the image.  Over all size is 15x55".  Virgin and new to the market, as they say.
