APOLLO 11 NASA BRASS AWARD DISH GIFT FOR CONTRIBUTION TO 1ST LUNAR LANDING

Description

NASA Appreciation Award Dish Apollo 11 - First Manned Lunar Landing a very nice Appreciation Award Dish from NASA. The center of the dish bears an enameled medallion featuring an astronaut and spacecraft on the lunar surface with the earth in the distance. Above the astronaut it reads, "APOLLO." In raised lettering around the center it reads, "For Your Contribution To The First Manned Lunar Landing * 1969 * NASA - MSC." The edges of the dish have raised images of different Spacecraft, the Moon, the Earth, The Command Module, Parachutes, Rocket Lauch, & a Rocket flying through Space. The back of the dish bears a silver foil label reading, "NASA Exchange - MSC." The dish is in lovely condition with a slight bit of wear. The dish measures 4 3/4" in diameter and stands about 1/2" tall. This was purchased from the estate of a NASA engineer and it would be a fine addition to any collection of NASA, Apollo 11, or Space-related memorabilia.
