Genuine 1/4" x 1/4" fragment of the gold Kapton foil that covered the outside of the Apollo 11 command module, Columbia, as part of the thermal protection system. This fragment is

This fragment flew around the moon and back to earth as part of the Apollo 11 mission.
The fragment is attached to
a pristine, unaddressed Artcraft first day cover of the 1969 First Man on the Moon stamp. The fragment is in the center of a red circle stamped on the cover, authenticating the Kapton fragment as having flown on Apollo 11. The Kapton is covered by a thin, clear, plastic, adhesive disk to protect it.
NOTE: If you don't want the adhesive disk placed over the Kapton fragment, let me know. But, I recommend the disk to protect the Kapton and prevent loss if the Kapton should fall off.
This fragment was left over from a larger piece used by a NASA employee to make a presentation display. Comes with a copy of the original COA from this NASA employee.
