it is beautiful, but stained and shows
wear and tear, but appropriate
and authentic to this doll.

it is important to note, this doll was made during
the izannah walker doll era
and VERY VERY VERY FEW wellington dolls
are ever found. this doll has no body tag.
i have only seen two with a tag, one in a book,
and one in my other collection.
I have posted a large amount of photos.
They are PURPOSELY BLOWN UP
AND over-sized,
clear, crisp photos for you to view,
and remain a part of my auction description.
this doll is quite special and beyond rare.
doll proudly shows much love and play wear,
and repaint, from which this doll
survived over the last 137 years!
early
Authentic
antique genuine american
cloth dolls are hard to find.
they are quite cherished, and rarely
offered for sale. someone repainted parts of her,
and there are expected flaws
on this doll as
this doll is a 137 year old survivor!!!!!!
There is overall heavy flaking and crackling
of the oil paint and
head splits front and back. i can see
repaint on head and face.
second skin has damage and holes.
There is NO odd stitching
to indicate any replacement limb parts,
and her beautiful body and limb paint has
even patina as expected
with play and wear and tear, and it's 137 year old age.
i am not sure if limbs have repaint or not.
It was a genuine attic find, a one family doll,
belonging to GRANDPA, when he was a baby!.
yes, doll is bruised and repainted
and wounded,
study all the photos......
