  • Condition: Overall in good authentic used antique condition. The condition on item is good especially for age, use and fragility. The Doll's overalls, shirt, black oilcloth boots etc has some wear, staining, soiling and possibly repairs. These antique dolls are very hard to find in any condition- as they were well used over the years. We leave all vintage/antique items as found.     Description

    Rare ANTIQUE Boy Man BLACK Handmade CLOTH Rag FABRIC DOLL #2 - A really neat early Black Cloth, Fabric or Rag Doll. The boy or man doll appears to be stuffed with old or early cotton or fabric stuffing.  The body itself is made of a very soft medium brown fabric like felt or flannel- it feels nice/soft to the touch and is in very good condition. There is also a portion which is lighter and looks like cotton or linen type fabric.  I did not try to remove the clothing- I left everything just as I purchased this doll.  I purchased him in Virginia last year at an antique show and was so pleased to find him.
    The overalls are made of an old soldier blue type of cotton fabric which are heavily faded, stained, have wear, and are oh so great!!!. He is so cute and boy dolls are very hard to find.  The shirt is made of a lighter cotton fabric and appears to be age stained to a tannish type color.  He has oil cloth type black boots which are trimmed with cotton that is worn in a lot of areas.  He also has a great perfect for him Wool plaid pork-pie type hat!  He has a felt applique red mouth a button nose and shoe button eyes- so wonderful!  There is wear on the fabric and clothes as expected.   I think it is likely from the early 1900s to 1930s but I am not sure.     The doll measures as follows: 15-16" Tall from bottom of legs to top of plaid hat and approx 5" wide at top of overalls.  He is a real cutie pie!!!!
