Adorable, c1930s, French GRE-POIR jointed cloth doll in excellent condition

Here is one of the most adorable and
rare,
French made, antique circa 1927, early 1930s,
Eugenie
GRE-POIR
, toddler
cloth dolls that you will find. Manufactured by
Gre-Poir, Inc., Paris, France
she is
very difficult to find and
similar to the La Venus dolls
and
resembles some of the famous Lenci dolls.
Standing, 17" tall, she has the sweetest face with adorable, well sculpted, molded and painted features with a
swivel neck, distinctive chin
and the prettiest, large painted
brown
,
side-glancing eyes
with hi-lites, long painted upper eyelashes, light brown painted eyebrows, heart-shaped mouth, softly blushed cheeks and hand sewn wig
of thick blonde, curly hair covered by her fetching, pink organdy bonnet with face-framing brim
. This charming model,
"Fifi" or "Lili"
,
has a five-piece, jointed cloth body as shown in
"Cloth Dolls"-Judd
reference books. A few of her sisters are featured in an extensive article and shown in March 2020, issue, "Antique Doll Collector" magazine (as shown in our photos). She has the distinctive rounded, mitt-type cloth hands with individually stitched fingers and separate thumbs and body construction exactly as described in book references with slightly shaped knees. She wears original charming pink organdy dress with ruffled trim and applique felt flowers, slip, undies and cloth shoes with side buttons. She is in excellent, very clean condition with no damages or repairs, (slight age tear hidden in the folds of her dress and age related darkening at the neckline in back) no repaint and no odors as she is from a smoke free home.
