    Description

    Wonderful little treasures!
    Absolutely precious, PAIR of
    original, covered cloth, early,
Martha Jenks Chase, Rhode Island, USA, circa 1890,
    baby dolls, one
    originally possibly stamped
on upper left cloth leg, (see photo)
little baby girl and slightly larger baby boy doll. One measures, 12" long and the other measures 13" long. These adorable babies have wonderfully oil painted, t
    hickly textured, blond hair
as well as painted blue/grey eyes with thick eyelashes, brows, rosy cheeks,
    applied ears
and closed mouths. They have tab-jointed (floppy style) arms and legs (
    early style
    : at
    hips, shoulders, elbows and knees
) with beautifully painted and individually stitched fingers with
    separate thumbs
and toes.  Infant girl is stamped on her left thigh with what may be the
    Martha Chase logo
. Both show lots of "play wear" from their long lives of being treasured companions and one has repainted hair, eyes, arms and legs. They both need careful attention and could be dressed in old doll clothing which would cover a lot of their repairs and placed in a large doll's arms or
could be used for parts or transplants (!)
They have no repairs, no holes or tears, no fading and no odors and need to be
    adopted together.
Other toys and "family members" are
    not included
    and will be listed separately.
    Please note:
nearly all of our items are
    antique or vintage
(usually with some signs of wear due to usage and previous storage). We do our very best to describe and photograph them for you and do not repair, restring,  repaint or enhance them in any way as most collectors prefer to find them in their original state. We have many other vintage & antique  (some quite rare) marionettes available (see last photos) and will list them as quickly as possible.
    Thanks for visiting,
Let us know if we can help you with anything else. We have
more antique and vintage dolls, dollhouse furniture and antique dollhouse dolls available,
    each listed separately.
