2 Antique ~7" Russian Soviet Union (USSR) Stockinette Cloth Dolls VGC

Description

Offered her are 2 Antique ~6"Russian Soviet Union stockinette cloth dolls in very good condition with
faces of well-sculpted, painted cloth and all cloth bodies.
The smiling first doll is dressed as a peasant boy and is wearing a res cotton peasant shirt or tunic with
3 tiny off-center buttons,
a black embroidery floss tie at waist, brown, gold, and white striped knee pants, white cotton wrappings from knee to ankles held on with lacings, a brown felt turban cap, and typical woven straw
sandals in great condition.
He has a
cloth tag on his shirt: “Made in Soviet // Union // Peasant Boy.”
He is pictured on page 17 of :The Other Russuan Dolls" by Linda Holderbaum.  His condition is excellent with brightly colored clothes and face features.
The second doll is dressed as a peasant girl and is wearing a blue cotton print dress, a brown flannel
great coat, white cotton pantaloons, a red and white stiffened cloth head piece with red flower print scarf wrapped around neck her neck, woven sandals with brown lacings in great condition.
She is carrying walking stick.
She has a
cloth tag on her dress: “Made in Soviet // Union // Peasant Girl on the Road.”
She is pictured on page 52 of "The Other Russian Dolls" by Linda Holderbaum.
The doll’s condition is very good and her clothes are only good because there is a 2 ½” black stain (candle wax?) on the back of her coat and a line of the stain on the front (Please look at photos.).
