  • Condition: This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA MSFC AEROSPACE Engineer that was part of Wernher von Brauns Pioneer Rocket Team designing and testing the F1/H1/J2 Engines. He later worked on the Shuttle's SSME starting in 1968 designing its Engines and was named Chief Engineer in 1971. Listing is for 3 GenCorp Aerojet Presentation books for USAF/Associate Administrator for Space Systems Development MSFC/McDonnell Douglas Aerospace on NK-33, D-57 and Tripropellant Engine Technology options for SSTO Validation presented along with his Russian counterparts. All are in Very Good overall condition with some use and storage/age wear (USAF presentation has some color pages that stuck to each other - currently apart, but with some wear (see pictures 3 and 4 as example).     Description

    This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA MSFC Aerospace Engineer that was part of ABMA and NASA working with Wernher von Braun on the pioneering Rocket Team. Mr. Thomson was ultimately responsible for the development of the H1, J2 and F1 Rocket Engines and eventually put in charge of the Shuttle "SSME" development in 1968, Lastly from 1971-86 he served as Chief Engineer for the Space Shuttle Main Engine the RS-25.  He later joined Aerojet as a Chief Scientist for advanced propulsion and worked directly with Russia after the East Berlin Wall fell mainly "AMERICANIZING" the NK-33.
