  • Condition: This recent find is from the estate of a NASA MSFC Retired Aerospace Engineer and is a Black and White NASA ORIGINAL Photograph of the APOLLO 1 Astronauts - White/Grissom/Chaffee. Photo is 8x10 and in Very Good condition for use and age with some aging and storage wear including a slight wave and fading in some spots, still a great. Backside has number handwritten "S-66-0 and is printed on a linen type paper that was typical of photos printed and used for The Marshall Star publication at MSFC. Please see all pictures...

    Description

    This recent find is from the Estate of a NASA Marshall Space Flight Center Retired Aerospace Engineer and is a NASA ORIGINAL Black and White Photo of the APOLLO 1 ASTRONAUTS who were later killed on the launchpad in a fire caused by a faulty electrical wire. Photo was taken during a press panel conference with all three astronauts together during their Astronaut Familiarization Course at MSFC in Huntsville, Alabama - Edward H. White II, Virgil “Gus” Grissom, and Roger B. Chaffee. Photo has some expected aging and storage wear with a slight wave and fading in some areas. Photo is on a linen type paper that was typically used for photos being printed for use in "The Marshall Star" and has handwritten number on back "S-66-O."
