  • Condition: This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA MSFC AEROSPACE Engineer that was part of Wernher von Brauns Pioneer Rocket Team designing and testing the F1/H1/J2 Engines. He later worked on the Shuttle's SSME starting in 1968 designing its Engines and was named Chief Engineer in 1971. Listing is for a set of 5 NASA APOLLO Era Pocket/Vest Data Books from various companies and years. All are in Very Good overall condition for use and age with some expected storage wear. TRW book has more wear to cover than others (see pictures 1 and 2). Some handwritten notes and 1964 P&W book has at least 5 fold outs (see pictures 6 and 7). Please see all Pictures...

    Description

    This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA MSFC Aerospace Engineer that was part of ABMA and NASA working with Wernher von Braun on the pioneering Rocket Team.  Mr. Thomson was ultimately responsible for the development and Testing of the "H1", J2 and F1 Rocket Engines for the Saturn V (Stages) and eventually put in charge of the Shuttle "SSME" development in 1968-69, Lastly from 1971-86 he served as Chief Engineer for the Space Shuttle Main Engine. This listing is for a set of 5 NASA APOLLO Era Pocket/Vest Books from various years and companies. Details below:

    1958 Westinghouse Notes and Data - 64 printed pages PLUS 60+ (not numbered) including world map, calendar, notes, address and census data pages
    1961 BELL AEROSYSTEMS COMPANY ROCKET DESIGN DATA HANDBOOK - 4th Edition - 88 pages
    1964 PRATT & WHITNEY AERONAUTICAL VEST-POCKET HANDBOOK - 10th Edition - 17th printing - 111 pages Plus a few Notes pages and includes at least 5 fold out pages (see pictures 6 and 7)
    1965 TRW (Space Technology Laboratories) SPACE DATA - cover shows more wear than others (see pictures 1 and 2)
